What MCP is

Model Context Protocol, in plain language

MCP is an open standard that lets an AI assistant work with a system other than itself. Anthropic introduced it. Relatance speaks it.

Without it, an assistant starts from scratch every time. The team's relational context sits in an inbox, a CRM, a document, and a few people's heads, and the assistant sees none of it.

With it, the assistant reads Orbit directly. The people, relationships, history, and timing your team works from become its working context, and a project's history stops resetting between conversations.

What a connected assistant can do

  1. OperatorWho has the strongest route to the county planning director on this site?
  2. RelatanceYour owner's rep, who met her at a pre-application meeting. Relationship strength: high. Last contact: this week.
  3. RelatanceA second route through a civil consultant who worked the last two hearings with her.
  4. OperatorLog that we met her Tuesday and she asked for the traffic study.
  5. RelatanceLogged on your relationship with the planning director, dated Tuesday: traffic study requested.

Both directions

Read · Live

Ask who has the strongest route to someone, why a contact matters, or what changed on this project last quarter.

Answers point back to the relational context they came from.

Write · Live

An assistant can log a meeting, add a note to a relationship, or add a person you've just met. Permissions decide what each connection can read and write.

Verified assistants

Claude, ChatGPT, Notion, and Grok

Claude
Ask before a meeting; it pulls relationship history and routes from Orbit.
ChatGPT
Connect once; it briefs you on the people involved and drafts email from the team's shared context.
Notion
Ask Notion's assistant from inside your workspace, and it answers from Orbit alongside the page. (Separately, a connector that brings Notion content into Orbit is in early access with Founding Partners.)
Grok
Connect once; the same Orbit and the same history, in a different assistant.

Other MCP clients may connect. We confirm compatibility with you before you rely on one.

For tool builders

Building on Orbit

If you're building an assistant or a vertical agent that needs relational context that lasts across sessions, Orbit is the substrate.

The MCP server is live for Founding Partners. Tell us what you're building and we'll send credentials and the connection spec.
