Origin

Where it comes from

The founder spent years inside complex physical development: data centers, infrastructure, capital coordination, civic work. Programs there move because experienced people know who matters, what happened before, when to engage, and how one relationship opens another.

The same pattern kept showing up. A project leaned on a few people who knew how things worked, and when they moved on, the team spent months finding its footing.

The tools on hand recorded what had happened: fields, stages, tasks. The history, influence, and timing behind each relationship stayed with the people.

Relatance is built to hold that context. The aim is to make the knowledge underneath good judgment durable, visible, and available to the rest of the team.

Why a new instrument

Relational work is about connection.

Most business software is built on tables, and tables are good at separating one fact from another so each can be found on its own.

Relational work runs the other way. The point is to connect: a developer to a utility engineer, the engineer to a planning director, the director to the council member whose vote the county needs.

For decades, teams have added fields, automations, and AI features to tools built on tables. Relatance starts from the connections instead. Orbit is a graph, so the relationships themselves hold the history, the strength, and the timing.

Team

Who builds it

A small founding team of operators with backgrounds in physical development, complex deal architecture, engineering, and infrastructure. The application form is the way to start a conversation with the team.

Patent

What's protected

The work is patent pending.

Where

Among the sage

Relatance is built along the Columbia River, in the dry sage country of eastern Washington.

It's a place where land, water, power, and permits are daily conversation. Building here keeps us close to the operators we serve and gives us room to name things carefully.
